Local artists, authors, entrepreneurs and artisans will showcase their wares and ideas at the return of Inspire Pop-Up on Monday, December 20, from 5:30-8:00 at the WorkZone in at 351 Paseo Nuevo upstairs. The event is free and open to the public. Each presenter will be speaking for 5 minutes about something that inspires them.
Claudia Bratton, artist and hat maker will have her Miss Tickle Hats and small art pieces for sale. “Beauty inspires me; it touches something inside of me that makes me want to express more beauty.” Bratton said. She is well known in Santa Barbara as the former Summer Solstice Celebration executive director. She has dedicated decades of her life to arts in the community. Here is her story of how hats saved her life.
Claudia will also have jewelry for sale from Susan Dworski and Nancy Murdock.
Penny Little, author, musician and artist will share her Little Savage cartoons, art and greeting cards. Little will have her most recent albums available for purchase, and will perform some songs from her recent album “Goodbye Yellow Butterfly” dedicated to her husband and musical partner Nik Green, who passed away in 2016.
“This is an opportunity to get inspired, to find a few treasures and last- minute gifts for the holidays. It’s a little bit Pecha Kucha, a little bit mini-Ted Talk a little bit pop-up marketplace, and a little bit party.” says event organizer Penny Little.”And it’s my birthday!”
